United Women in Faith

words Bake Sale

United Women in Faith is sponsoring a bake sale on May 4, 2025. Proceeds go to the children and youth of Northfield UMC. We need bakers to fill the table with tantalizing treats and we need buyers who want some of those treats gracing their Sunday dinner table. Treats also make a great pairing with morning coffee.

UWFaith members have always been ready to help the children and youth of our church. This year the youth are going to Kansas City to be a part of Service Learning projects in the area. The children are planning a trip to a Methodist summer camp. Leaders, Kristin and Greg, can decide where the money will best be used.

Mission u study: “Practicing Hope” -  The study purpose is to allow all of our communities to cultivate hope that is honest about our current conditions (refugia), hope that is restorative when everything feels urgent (rest) and hope that is possible even when we transgress (repair).

“Mission u will study the resurrection appearances of Jesus and the example of early Christian communities to explore what it means to practice hope in God even when things seem to be falling apart.” Join us at Mission u as we explore what it means to practice hope as followers of Christ. There are two ways to participate: online or in person. More information and registration at website mission u uwfaithmn.com

Where does the United Women in Faith money go? The UWFaith Response March/April 2025 magazine tells of a group of women deaconesses in the Philippines. They are helping families having experienced members being shot by night visitors. From 7,000 to 30,000 family members have been shot due to a “war on drugs.” However many of these victims were innocent and poor. Deaconesses in Rise Up for Life are helping them get justice. At an awards ceremony, Dollaga, thanked the “United Women in Faith for believing in the work and ministries that we do in our country.” “United Methodist deaconesses in the Philippines are prime movers behind a wide variety of ministries both inside and outside the church.”

Alliance Stamp Ministry: All types of cancelled postage stamps and Stamp collections are accepted. Put them in the box in Fellowship Hall. This is an ongoing ministry.
