Supporting Emma Norton Services & Restoring Waters Shower of Donations
Emma Norton Services at Restoring Waters, 2265 Hillcrest Avenue, St. Paul, MN, 55116
Sundays - February 16, 23, and March 2 – are days United Women in Faith have set aside for collecting monetary donations for Emma Norton Service’s operating fund. We also share a chance to shower those serviced by Emma Norton’s staff with needed items.
On United Women of Faith Sunday, March 2, Shawna Nelsen-Wills, ENS Advancement Director, will bring us more information about Emma Norton Services and Restoring Waters. She will also be in Adult Forum after worship with more information and to answer questions.
“Emma Norton Services is a trauma-informed organization that promotes healing and recovery, operating at a scale that brings a full array of resources to women, individuals, and families who have experienced homelessness. Housing and services are exemplary, offered in collaboration with key community partners. Emma Norton Services, Youtube.” “[Restoring Waters residents live] in their own studio apartments. The building has gardening and art rooms. A rooftop patio is open to residents. Each floor has a free laundry room. All the units come furnished.
Tonya Brownlow, Emma Norton’s executive director says, “I just think of the day when the people living here will be able to fill their days with being in a place where it’s really designed for you to be the best possible human you can be.”
“We’ve had many recent move-ins in our programs, and as you may expect, there are a lot of household essentials that our new clients need to help them get settled. This January we’re focusing our ask on two main household essentials — pots & pans, and trash bins! We are also seeking donations of Clorox/disinfecting wipes! With illnesses like flu, COVID, and norovirus on the rise, sanitizing surfaces is extra important.”
Let’s Shower the residents of Restoring Waters and other Emma Norton programs with love, kindness and items needed for successful living in God’s world.
