35 Quilts for Operation Joy

Members of Mission Sewing

We’re Mission Sewing, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to share what we do!

Our mission is close to our hearts: we aim to complete 35 quilts for Operation Joy, a program run by the Community Action Center (CAC). Operation Joy brings holiday gifts to children aged 1 through 18 in the Northfield area, and we’re proud to be part of that effort. So far this year, we’ve already finished 20 quilts, what a blessing to see our progress and know we’re making a difference!

Thanks to a generous donation of flannel fabric, we’ve been able to expand our work. Now, our volunteers are busy cutting and sewing receiving blankets and diapers, which we donate to the Midwest Mission Distribution Center. These items bring comfort and care to families, especially those with little ones who need extra support.

We meet every month on the fourth Wednesday to tie quilts and work on other projects. If you’d like to join us, our next meetings are:

  • June 24th
  • July 22nd

Both meetings start at 9:00 AM in Room 120.

We’re always looking for more helping hands! Whether you’re a seasoned sewist or just want to lend your time, your support is what keeps us going. If you’re passionate about making a difference, we’d love to have you at our next meeting or hear from you about how you can help. Together, we can reach our goal and spread even more joy!
