Prayers for Gaza: Where Hope and Solidarity Take Root

Palestine Flag

PRAYERS:
Despite the destruction of Gaza’s cultural and literary institutions and the killing of at
least 150 of Gaza’s leading cultural figures because of the genocide, people in Gaza continue
to insist on life. One example is the recent launching of the Phoenix Library, a library created
through crowdfunding and renovation of a surviving building. The library now houses more
than 6,000 books in Arabic and English that survived the rubble, and it has become a space
for people to continue education and research.

Loving God, in the midst of suffering and destruction, we are reminded of the presence
of your Holy Spirit in all spaces that cultivate hope. We pray for the success of the
Phoenix Library and all initiatives that uplift the oppressed. Lord, help us wherever we
are to contribute to the great work of solidarity and hope by using our creativity and
gifts. Lord in your mercy.....hear our prayer.

The Bible Is Anti-Zionist: 40 Reflections on the Greatest Moral Crisis of our Time Paperback – 21 April 2026
by Jesse Steven Wheeler (Author), Jonathan Kuttab (Foreword)
As a collection of short meditations, this study series was designed to catalyze new ways of thinking about and responding to the
greatest moral crisis of our time. It is an unfortunate reality that people of faith have become the greatest cheerleaders, as well as
political and financial supporters, for the evils of apartheid and forced displacement experienced by the Indigenous Palestinian
people—the great tragedy being that many believe this is what the Bible commands. Thankfully, it does not.

For a long time, Christian Zionists have claimed that the Bible not only supports but, in-fact, mandates their political agenda. By
selectively quoting certain verses, frequently out of context, and ignoring most other relevant texts, they have laid claim to biblical
authority while inserting their own political views and commentary as if it was gospel truth. This book reclaims the authority of
Scripture by a thoughtful presentation that concentrates on the biblical text itself and invites the reader to prayerfully seek out its true
meaning. The results are amazing! For more information and to read the forward: The Bible Is Anti-Zionist: A 40-Day Devotional
