ISAIAH--2024 Claiming Our Choices Agenda

ISAIAH has issued its 2024 “Claiming Our Choices Agenda,” calling upon all elected Minnesota officials to govern with the following principles at the forefront:

A DEMOCRACY THAT HONORS EVERY PERSON’S DIGNITY and A CARING ECONOMY THAT ALLOWS EVERYONE TO THRIVE

We are supporting legislative and executive actions that expand voting rights, shift from punishment to restoration and redemption, end Islamophobia and antisemitism, welcome immigrants, and fully-fund education that is equitable for all.

In addition, we are seeking a state that supports all kinds of families and their ability to care for each other, that promotes affordable, dignified places to live, work, retire and play, a guaranteed health care system, a system of finance where everyone can access wealth, clean air and water and responsible stewardship of the land, a just and equitable clean energy transition, and accessible, affordable childcare that honors the essential work of childcare professionals with dignified wages.

This is a broad agenda that cannot be accomplished quickly. But together we can take meaningful steps toward building the beloved community that we are called to by the mission Christ calls us to.

No specific actions to take at this time. Just be alert to news coming from the legislative bodies and prayerfully consider what the future might look like. Specific action alerts will be coming soon.
