Later You Will Understand
Attention all Math, Pie, and Youth Ministry enthusiasts!!
This year marks a very special, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! On March 14, 2015, the date notation works out to: 3/14/15, or if I may: 3.1415, roughly equivalent to the mathematical constant, pi! Yay!
The Senior High Fellowship will be observing this momentous event with a special fundraiser – we will spend the day baking pies, which we will then sell by the slice and whole after both worship services on Sunday, March 15th.
Well, not quite, but now that we have your attention, let it be known that a reunion of the Volunteer in Mission team that attended Costa Rica Jan. 21-Feb. 4 will be gathering at this church on Sunday, March 22, and you're invited!
You will know them by their T-shirts, and this includes 10 persons from this church: Richard & Katherine Collman, Jim & Janet Dale, Marilynn & Jim Gryc, Dorothy Orde, Bill & Merrell Thornton, and Catherine Williams, plus alums Carl Caskey and others from a distance. (the total team numbered 30)
Our 7th and 8th graders are the stars of this fun event, which will take the place of the regular Super Wednesday meal for the evening. The Fellowship Room and tables will be decorated in the style of a 50’s-era diner, including costumed servers on skates! The net proceeds from this event will be donated to the Northfield Food Shelf.
The Menu:
Hamburger, Cheeseburger, or Vegetarian Option,
Chips, Pickles, Coleslaw & Rootbeer Floats.
Today we will have one service of worship at 10:00 a.m. followed by fellowship and refreshments. Our regular Sunday morning worship and Sunday school will resume on January 11th.
Epiphany Sunday – Communion
10:00 a.m. Every Good and Perfect Gift
Matthew 2:1-12, Luke 2:25-32
Today we will have one service of worship at 10:00 a.m. followed by fellowship and refreshments. Our regular Sunday morning worship and Sunday school will resume on January 11th.
Sunday after Christmas
10:00 a.m By Way of Contrast
Isaiah 60:1-3, John 1:1-5, 9-10; 8:12;12:35-36
You may prefer to attend a later, quieter, more reflective service with a little more elbow room! This beautiful service also includes the biblical story of Jesus’ birth and lots of congregational carols. Special music will be provided by our organist, Cathy Rodland and others.
