Good Friday Stations of the Cross
Good Friday Stations of the Cross
The ancient practice of walking through Jesus' final day through trial and death via the "stations of the cross" dates from the earliest pilgrims to the Holy Land in the early Middle Ages. Many of them from Europe brought the practice back to their own communities and shaped gardens and sanctuaries with their own depictions of the stations. The Northfield UMC stations were gracious gifts from Dr. Don Roos, whose photographs bring vibrant detail to the mosaics from a mission church in California to life in our own sanctuary on Good Friday. From 6:30-8pm, our sanctuary will be open and a guidebook available at the door for anyone who wants to honor the story of Jesus's trial and death by walking through the stations of the cross.
