Meeting Around the Baptismal Font

One of our hopes growing out of our summer renewal leave is to find ways to more fully support the many outward ministries of our church with deeper inward spiritual practice. To that end we are beginning a weekly time of silent meditation prac-tice and we invite you to join us. This will take place around the baptismal font in the sanctuary each Thurs-day evening from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.

These weekly gatherings will include:

  • a brief welcome
  • a reading, poem, or scripture,
  • a time of silent meditation (15-20 minutes),
  • and a closing blessing.

Though the spiritual practice of silent meditation may be something some of us have never tried, it can provide a rich way of bringing balance to our busy and active lives. This practice will be open to all ages, though par-ticipation will involve sitting in silent stillness for 15-20 minutes.

If you are interested or would like to know more please speak with Pastors Donna or Marty, or simply show up on any Thursday evening. The first gathering will be on Thursday, September 18th.
