Message From the Pastor - Thank You

thank you in different languages

“If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.” Meister Eckhardt

As we enter the month of November, I would like to say “Thank You!” “Thank you” for welcoming me as the Pastor of Northfield United Methodist Church, and for sharing your lives with me.

More specifically, here are some things for which I say “thank you.”

• Thank you for loving God, each other, and your neighbors in need. When I look over the congregation on Sunday mornings, the beauty of the Spirit shines in your faces.

• Thank you for valuing children and youth, and placing them at the center of our strategic visioning. The buzz on Wednesday nights is contagious,

• Thank you for serving meals on Super Wednesdays. The meals are great, and the community is even better.

• Thank you for caring for one another by sending cards, visiting the homebound, and holding each other in prayer. Your care for one another is heartwarming.

• Thank you for advocating for a more just world for all God’s children. Your voice is desperately needed.

• Thank you for sharing your gifts of technology. It takes a team to share the way of Jesus.

• Thank you for growing in faith and supporting each other (from Adult Forums to Bible Studies to Breakfasts to United Women in Faith – and the list goes on).

• Thank you for sharing soul-tending and spirit-energizing music on Sunday mornings. From trombone to cello to hand bells to organ, there is something for everyone.

• Thank you for the many ways you serve behind the scenes (from greeting to leadership to assisting with our kids to watering flowers, and again, the list goes on).

I am thankful for the ways you live your faith, and share your time, talents, and treasures with Northfield UMC.

Blessings,

Donna
