It Is Time

February library news

Borrowing from the pastors’ sermon theme from last month, your Church Library team is echoing the time reference this month. It is time to return books. There are return trays in the library and on the display table in Fellowship Hall.

Critical to the library’s resources is the return of the children and adult books dealing with the understanding of racism. If you are still in need of their use, please speak to one of the team members or leave a note in the Church Office.

The library volunteers are ready to collect and store the Advent and Christmas books for another year; it would be helpful to have them returned asap.

It is a pleasure to announce that one more novel by the Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Marilynne Robinson, has been added to our collection. Housekeeping, joins the other works of Robinson, beginning with Gilead and the related books in that series. Housekeeping, is a “stand alone” and, yes, it is about the effort to keep house, but it refers to keeping anything, be that a psychological, emotional or physical thing maintained.

February is a month filled with days noted on our calendars. None more important than Wednesday the 22nd., Ash Wednesday. Lenten materials will be available for check out in both Fellowship Hall and on the Library desk. Study groups and family and youth groups, let the Library team know of any supplemental resources we may be able to locate for you.
