ISAIAH - Upcoming Election
Isaiah’s message for October continues to be focused on the upcoming election for national, state, local and governmental offices and projects. Take action:
Learn about the candidates and their platforms
Learn about the projects and issues on the ballot
Ponder these to discern the choices that best affirm your faith values.
Cast your ballot – either early, by mail or in-person, or on November 5th in person.
John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, had advice to those who were eligible to vote back in his day:
“I met those of our society who had votes in the ensuing election, and advised them:
1. To vote, without fee or reward, for the person they judged most worthy.
2. To speak no evil of the person they voted against.
3. To take care their spirits were not sharpened against those that voted on the other side."
His advice is still worthy of our consideration.
