Help with a Habit for Humanity Home
This summer Habitat for Humanity will be building a home in Dundas, and Jim Dale from our congregation has volunteered to coordinate our efforts as a church. Jim has lots of experience working with Habitat, and he has extended the following invitation to all of us:
As a member of our Service Ministries Team, I have volunteered to help our congregation get involved in this wonderful organization this year. I'm looking for many of you to take it upon yourselves to join me with your willingness to participate. I'll be telling you more in early June and until that time I hope you will prayerfully consider joining in this ministry as we at NUMC show our love for a family in need of decent, safe and affordable housing. A positive place to raise a family.
Habitat for Humanity is all about providing an interest free mortgage to families that need and can afford to manage a home. If you have questions on any of this please call me at 507-301- 3318 or my cell phone of 715-733-0575.
The work on the home in Dundas will begin in June. All levels of skill are utilized each day, so no one has to feel unqualified. There will be need for carpentry, roofing, painting, staining woodwork, installing siding, sheet rocking, electrical installation, making stairs, landscaping, flooring, installing doors and windows, painting, and providing lunches and coffee break snacks for the workers. They will also need volunteers to greet the workers each day and get them signed in as they work as hosts for the day. So there are many ways that all of us can lend a hand.
